At the Geneva International Motor Show,
AC Schnitzer unveiled the BMW i8 with new carbon
aerodynamic components and special livery.
As with the first BMW i8 tuning package from AC Schnitzer, the
new edition is all about carbon. The carbon-fiber-reinforced
plastic finally fits perfectly into the sports car and
its passenger compartment is made of the lightweight
high-tech material, which, despite the elaborate hybrid
technology and lithium-ion battery, only weighs around 1.5
tonnes for an electrical range of 37 kilometers.
The i8 by AC Schnitzer, with 25 mm lowering at the front and 20
mm at the rear, is significantly closer to the road than the
standard vehicle, ensuring greater stability in all cornering
situations.AC Schnitzer carbon front spoiler elements, carbon
side skirts and carbon Racing rear wing ensure that driving
pleasure can be fully enjoyed on acceleration from both the
powerful petrol engine and the hybrid electric motor.
The wheel set was also developed in the light of the
lightweight design, because the ACS1 forged wheels in 21 inches
are 4.4 kg lighter than the BMW wheels in the Turbine style
Aluminum pedal set, aluminum footrest and floor mats of velours
emphasize the light touch of the interior design, and at the
same time highlight the sophisticated look of the i8 by AC
